Tis’ the season of fudge! Well, is there really a season not to have fudge? Not for me at least. I would say, however, that we probably have more fudge around this time of year. Fudge is great as a gift, and there are so many varieties you can make. Today, we are going to address peanut butter fudge!!!
This peanut butter fudge recipe was passed to me from my Mom. She got this recipe from a neighbor. And so on and so on. I am not sure who created this recipe, but it is so good! This has been our go-to peanut butter fudge recipe.
I love all kinds of fudge, but peanut butter is my all time favorite. As for the type of peanut butter, feel free to use you favorite brand since the peanut butter is the featured ingredient. I have not used the natural peanut butters in this fudge, so I cannot say how the fudge would turn out. What I have used is both creamy and smooth peanut butter. They are both amazing! I opted for a smooth texture, but the pieces of peanuts throughout the fudge is a nice option!
Peanut Butter Fudge
Ingredients
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup peanut butter creamy or chunky (I use the Jiff brand)
- 1 cup marshmallow fluff
- 1 t pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Butter an 8x8 dish and set aside.
- On the stove top in a heavy bottomed medium saucepan, add the sugar and evaporated milk. Stirring continuously, cook until the temperature reads 240 degrees F (soft ball stage). Remove from heat and add the peanut butter, marshmallow fluff and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
- Pour the fudge into the prepared dish, and let cool before cutting (about 1 to 2 hours).
- Enjoy!
