1cupgranulated white sugarDo not use brown sugar or honey
4cupswater
Instructions
Pour the sugar and water in a pot on the stovetop.
Dissolve mixture over medium heat. Stir while heating. (Do NOT bring to a boil.)
Once sugar has dissolved, remove pot from heat.
Let nectar cool to room temperature.
Pour prepared nectar in hummingbird feeder and enjoy watching your happy hummingbirds!
Notes
You can double the recipe and store the extra nectar in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 weeks. Just bring the nectar to room temperature before putting the food out for the hummingbirds.
