Slow Cooker Smoked Gouda Grits

Smoky gouda stone ground grits made in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups stone ground grits washed and rinsed (do not use instant or quick cook grits)
  • 6 cups vegetable broth or chicken broth
  • 1/2 t onion powder
  • 1/2 t garlic powder
  • 2 cups grated smoked gouda cheese
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Combine the grits, broth, onion powder, garlic powder in a slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours.
  • Once the grits are ready, add the gouda cheese and salt if needed. Stir to combine.
  • Enjoy as is, or add you favorite toppings.
